 Replacement for DD_belatedPNG?
A welcome side effect of this script is that it automatically enables alpha PNG support in IE6 by using VML. Drew Diller's script was the first (and previously only known) one that correctly supported alpha PNG. All other known IE PNG replacements scripts use AlphaImageLoader, which is completely unreliable.
Anyway, history lesson aside, it would be nice to minimize duplicate scripts and drop DD_belatedPNG, but, of course, we only need to replace PNGs in IE6... unless of course there are other CSS3 background properties needing to be used. What do you suggest? A tutorial just on IE6 PNG support would be awesome.
Thanks, Matthew

 Re: Replacement for DD_belatedPNG?
So you are saying that in IE6 is trying to load DD_belatedPNG neither scripts would work or one would override the other?

 Re: Replacement for DD_belatedPNG?
No, I'm saying that they have duplicated functionality of supporting alpha transparency in IE6 via VML, with CSS3Pie being a more elegant option, EXCEPT that it doesn't support the <img> tag.

 Re: Replacement for DD_belatedPNG?
Having recently had my first taste of PIE, I must admit that I'm hooked. I'm also a user of DD_belatedPNG. I'd love to be able to use only PIE if it is possible. Do I understand correctly that PIE cannot take care of transparency for images? If so, any chance of that being considered for future support?
Thanks again for an awesome solution!
Best,
Matt

 Re: Replacement for DD_belatedPNG?
My understanding is that it does not support img tags, so, use div instead with your png as background. Am I wrong, anyone?

 Re: Replacement for DD_belatedPNG?
You're correct, as of beta2. The current dev code does have support for <img> elements however, and is more usable as a generic PNG fix.

 Re: Replacement for DD_belatedPNG?
Alright! When does the dev version become the next release version?
