Post PIE Not Appearing In Some Environments
Hi,

The following site, which is built using PIE.htc, does not appear to be working in IETester (IE 7 or 8)

I have also tested it using spoon.net, and it is not working their either.

http://www.estrovenchangingweighs.com.p ... tlink.com/

But one person says that it is working on IE7 on a virtual machine.

I have checked the common problems and I think it I have covered everything, including the .htaccess file.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Todd

UPDATE:

I have noticed that in Spoon IE8, the PIE.htc is working on some elements.

http://www.estrovenchangingweighs.com.p ... tlink.com/

vs

http://www.estrovenchangingweighs.com.p ... om/markup/

So there must be some JS confilct that is causing it to stop applying the PIE.htc.

If you look at the bottom of the page, the buttons are properly rounded and the headshots are in circles (correct) but at the top of the page they are not.

Ok, a couple problems have been fixed:

Background images have been fixed by updating the path to the image. Yes, this is in the common problems section.

PIE.htc is lost when an item is set to hidden and then visible again, so I changed my code not to do that.

Now working on Z-Index

So, I have found that sometimes visibility affects how pie is rendered. When an element is visible, then hidden, the visible, it can lose its PIE.

As I keep to work on the page, I am having a hard time updating the page using an ajax call.

I properly get the new HTML back from the call, and I use:

$.get($(this).attr("href"), function(data){
$("#blog_page_holder").html(data);
},"html");

To update a piece of the page, but something goes awry and I get a milliion

'null' is null or not an object errors.

If someone could visit this page:

$.get($(this).attr("href"), function(data){
$("#blog_page_holder").html(data);
},"html");

And scroll down and click on a topic, you will see what happens. The code that is replaced is the exact same markup that works when the page is initially loaded.

so... jquery .html and pie don't work well together.

Use the native innerHTML and it will work better.

Last up... the page is still crashing IE7 when I use pie.

So, any thoughts on why PIE might cause my page to crash in IE7?

Your page loads fine without crashing IE7 for me: http://cl.ly/image/2j0g2e3o432p

You mentioned IETester and Spoon ... both of these tools are known to be inaccurate and have issues that real IE installs do not. I recommend reading the suggestions here for accurate IE testing: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1206
