Sorry, my fault. somehow the extension on the htc file got dropped.
it actually works great.
also, using the php file for content type, I decided to place my htc file on another domain and that works fine also.
I manage over 200 websites and it will suck going through and switching them all to use the php file because of the need for the content type, but as I do this, I can set the php files to grab the htc from one location, so with every future update, I just need to update the one htc file and all my sites will be updated.
hope this idea of a centralized htc file helps someone else too.
