Your forum is getting hit quite badly with spam it's getting to the point where it's NSFW.... which is a shame because I only need to refer to it at work.

Do you think adding a captcha would help?

Or at least turning off the ability to add external images? I know that would affect some people who want to post screenshots, but I'd rather have that than the kind of unpleasant surprise I got when I opened the topic "JQuery opacity animation (fadeIn, fadeOut)" (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=44)

You might also consider recruiting a few extra forum moderators to help you clean up the spam that does get through.

Yeah it has gotten pretty bad recently. I try to keep on top of it but it's getting to be too much.

I think captcha should already be in place. A community member has sent me some great info on additional spam countermeasures for phpBB but I haven't had the time to implement them. I'd hate to disallow images but that might be necessary. And recruiting moderators is a good idea too.
