Post Gradient problems with IE9
Hi,

I'm testing my website with IE9 and css3 gradient doesn't work fine
(It's work fine with IE7 and IE8)

I know that CSS3PIE is desactived in IE9, may be I made a suntax error ??

Here's my code :
Code:
#myDiv {
   background: #000;
   background: -webkit-gradient(linear, 0 0, 0 bottom, from(#000), to(#fff));
   background: -moz-linear-gradient(#000, #fff);
   background: linear-gradient(#000, #fff);
   -pie-background: linear-gradient(#000, #fff);
   behavior: url(/javascripts/PIE.htc);
}

Thanks !

IE9 does not support CSS gradients natively. Work is in progress to add support to PIE to render linear-gradient using SVG in IE9, but in the meantime you can use a SVG background image, like http://css3wizardry.com/2010/10/29/css- ... s-for-ie9/

i am having the same issue
i was trying to combine the IE filter that CSS3Please.com uses with CSS3Pie

header.title_gradient {
background-color: #858585;
background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #858585, #ababab 30%, #858585 90%); /* FF3.6 */
background-image: -webkit-gradient(linear, 0 0, 0 100%, from(#858585), color-stop(30%, #ababab), color-stop(90%, #858585)); /* Saf4+, Chrome */
background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(#ababab, #858585); /* Chrome 10+, Saf6 */
background-image: linear-gradient(top, #ababab, #858585);
filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorStr='#ababab', EndColorStr='#858585'); /* IE6–IE9 */

-pie-background: linear-gradient(#ababab, #858585); /* IE6-IE8 */
behavior: url(../themes/ih/PIE.htc);

}

would this be a possibility?

The filter will cover up anything PIE renders, so if you go that route you might as well leave PIE out altogether. Filters will not work with rounded corners at all, even in IE9.

So just use a if higher than version 8 apply filter command :)

Any update of pie being reactivated in IE9 for gradients yet? Pie was the only reason I was confident is using css3 in my sites but now that IE9 is out... fuck Microsoft.

@bccsergio Thanks for that. Still will be good to see it back in pie.

Who wants to help me test a dev version with tentative support for gradients in IE9?

I just dropped it into a site using pie. No linear support there in IE9. It was quick check though as it's 3.30am here.

Btw, this is the css I was using.

Code:
-pie-background: linear-gradient(#64B3D9, #39C);

Let me know if the code I put in is wrong. Thanks for all your work mate.
