Post Removing csspie items using javascript

I've got an <li> that I use CSS3PIE with in order to get rounded corners. This element gets removed by javascript (jquery specifically) when the user clicks a link. I've noticed that when this happens, the <css3-container> remains, leaving a funky little box with rounded corners.

I should mention that this element is animated before it is removed. Here is the javascript:
$('li#something').animate({ "width": 0 }, { "duration": 200, "complete": function()
} });

I tried removing the animation, but it actually still does the same thing.

I tried to make a small test case, but I couldn't.

Do you know what could cause this?

I've attached a screenshot that shows how it looks before the li is removed, and how it looks after.
