Post Strange image-border in IE7
Good night!

I have div block with wight=50% and image-border:
http://nvh-group.ru/images/blog/multi_bg/index.html

I cant find mistake in my code, but IE7 works incorrect - image size different from 213px (in my css: border-width: 213px; border-image: url(images/border_decor.jpg) 213 213 213 213 repeat repeat; !), top and bottom border image is not sliced.

p.s. sorry for my english)

Unfortunately PIE only currently supports the 'stretch' value for border-image.

With border width beyond 213 workers were following code:

padding: 261px; /* padding = border-width + my padding!!! */
border-width: 211px; /* border-width = border-width -2px!!!*/
border-image: url(images/border_decor.jpg) 204 204 204 204 stretch stretch; /* 213 - 9 */

Strange. I expect:
padding: 50px; /* ANY */
border-width: 213px;
border-image: url(images/border_decor.jpg) 213 213 213 213 stretch stretch;

Try adding:
Code:
border-style: solid;
border-color: transparent;

Since border-style defaults to 'none', PIE collapses the border space. So you have to set border-style to something else. I actually think PIE's behavior here is correct according to a strict reading of the CSS3 spec, but other browsers behave differently so I'll likely change it to match the other browsers in the future.

Due to another bug you have to set border-color:transparent as well, or PIE will render the solid black border. That's a known issue.
