Post Applying PIE effects crashes IE
In IE6, 7, and 8, you can fairly easily crash the browser by setting border-radius or box-shadow on a td element. Apparently the renderer's none too fond of you messing with tables.

Test case:
Code:
<html><head><style>
#crash {
    border: 1px solid black;
    border-radius: 6px;
    behavior: url(PIE.php);
}
</style></head>
<body><table>
<tr><td>1</td><td>2</td><td>3</td></tr>
<tr><td>4</td><td id='crash'>5</td><td>6</td></tr>
<tr><td>7</td><td>8</td><td>9</td></tr>
</table></body></html>

Yeah PIE can do nasty things when applied to table components. This will be fixed in a future release, see http://github.com/lojjic/PIE/issues#issue/21

I can report, that applying PIE gradient to the <body> element, will result in IE6 to prompt the error: "Operation aborted" and that the page cannot be opened.

I am using PIE on a lot of other elements, so took me a while of trial and removal of the PIE statements to find it.

PS. It works completely fine in IE7+8, so this is really a bummer - again 6 is pulling us down :cry:

I am just placing PIE in a regular <div> and I am running into the same issue. Although this only seems to happen on XP/IE6 installs, as the page will crash randomly as I move through the site. It does not crash when IE6 is emulated, or installed on later versions of Win, or any other OS.

I'm having the same issue too, IE crashed when applying the behaviour to the table/td elements. I've seen this fix http://github.com/lojjic/PIE/issues#issue/21 and i guess it will applied in the beta3 release. But i really need this fix rite now. How can i get the PIE.htc (compressed) that already include this fix now? I don't understand how to get this from the github.

Thx for the help and sorry for the english.

I also am experiencing a crash in native IE6/XP-SP2 when applying the PIE fix to an entire TABLE element.

I can provide some sample HTML code if it helps, and I can also test a URL if you guys think you fixed the bug but can't duplicate the cause.

Like you all mentioned above, I too am having issues with shadow/border-radius crashing IE. However I am not applying styles to a table or any table element but am doing so to a dynamically generated <div>

And insight?

@elaniobro: Can you provide a testcase? I have not seen crashing on dynamically created elements.

This Happen to me earlier on IE6 too
it worked fine for some time ... but after i put the Files in a folder (they were on the root of the site) and edited the CSS File i loaded the page and it crashed

loaded IE Again and it crashed again ... the 3rd time it worked fine
in the end i said to test it on IE8 So i unistalled IE6

Edit:

After i changed the directory to PIE And loaded IE8 it displayed the Corners (not rounded) and after a sec it loaded them and showd some comment saying something about compability ... but sadly i couldnt read it :?
